Truck Driver/Material Handler

The position is responsible for operating commercial vehicles, 26,000 lbs or more, and abide by all laws, federal, state, and local, pertaining to the operation of these vehicles.

Summary of Responsibility:

• Safely drive operate commercial vehicles, 26,000 lbs or more
• Conduct inspections of trucks/trailers consisting of tire check, operation of lights, and damage.
• Safely operate material handling equipment, industrial trucks, hand trucks, and forklifts
• Transport correct trailer to the dock door or to the yard utilizing yard jockey
• Detect and report faulty operations and defective materials and packaging
• Maintain work equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to 5-S
• Maintain communication with the team to coordinate movement of materials necessary to ensure uninterrupted operation of production facilities
• Maintain required checks of power handling equipment
• Other duties as assigned

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 6 months experience operating commercial vehicles

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain a Class A CDL
• Ability to bend, squat and kneel, frequently
• Ability to lift average weighted materials, 50 lbs or less; up to 70 lbs occasionally

• Ability to interface with employees and customers
• Ability to interpret instructions
• Ability to adapt to change
