Transportation Manager

Position purpose

Primary responsibilities

• Manage transportation supervisors, routing personnel, vendors, drivers, and department staff.
• Manage daily transportation and routing operations.
• Monitor Samsara safety scores, camera and gateway health, on-time delivery, and driver qualification files.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs through third-party providers.
• Manage the transportation budget and identify efficiency improvements.
• Convert KPI findings into tangible operational actions.
• Approve and ensure the accuracy of driver pay.
• Interpret collective bargaining agreements and participate in grievance or arbitration procedures.
• Maintain employee relationships, answer policy and procedure questions, and promote morale.
• Promote and manage workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support personnel selection, hiring, performance management, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED with two years of higher education is required.
