The role is required to ensure that the organization has the right level of technical competence and the right balance of staff in terms of skills and experience and that training enhances their performance and achieves the business aims.
The primary role of the Training & Competency Assessor is to assess learners’ performance and related knowledge in a range of tasks and to ensure that the competence and/or knowledge demonstrated meets the requirements of the technical rail knowledge and standards required.
The postholder will work collaboratively with the business and support line managers to enable best-in-class training and competence function.
GCSE Maths & English Grade C/4 (or equivalent).
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical/technical subject.
Assessor Qualification (Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, A1, D32) or willing to work towards
Level 4 - Internal Quality Assurance or willing to work towards
Minimum 3 years’ knowledge of rail fleets and technical understanding of fleet maintenance.
Minimum 2 years’ knowledge and proven record of assessing work in a structured and auditable manner.
Software: Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office, Competency Management Systems (listed as examples)
Education: Undergraduate qualification in relevant mechanical/technical subject
Software: Dayforce, Cornerstone, IFS, SharePoint, OneNote, (listed as examples)
Minimum 2 years’ being able to plan, control and manage various disciplines at any given time.
