Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for construction and civil engineering projects.
- Assist with reviewing tender documentation and project specifications.
- Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Help prepare quantities, cost data and pricing information using estimating software.
- Attend site visits and gather information to support the estimating process.
- Work closely with estimators, project teams and supply chain partners to develop competitive bids.
- Assist with maintaining supplier and subcontractor databases and records.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practice.
Qualifications
- Degree qualified (or working towards completion) in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Industrial placement, year-out experience, summer placement or 1 to 3 years' experience within a construction environment is desirable.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with colleagues and external partners.
- A genuine interest in construction, commercial management and project delivery.
- Enthusiastic, motivated and eager to learn and develop a long-term career with Farrans.
