Role Overview
The role leads industrial operations for a new tobacco brand serving the African market.
During Phase 1 in the UAE, the engineer oversees contract manufacturing, blend matching, production setup, and QA/QC.
During Phase 2, the engineer relocates overseas to commission a new African manufacturing facility and lead operations.
Phase 1: UAE Contract Manufacturing
- Act as the primary technical liaison with third-party UAE contract manufacturers.
- Use GC-MS laboratory data and collaborate with master blenders to match target blends and casing profiles.
- Oversee R&D trials and setup of 84mm Soft Pack production lines, including mechanical calibration.
- Conduct QA/QC checks, validate the Golden Sample, and approve export batches against quality standards.
- Coordinate raw tobacco and non-tobacco material deliveries with factory production schedules.
Phase 2: Factory Setup and Operations
- Lead reception, installation, and calibration of cigarette makers and packers at the African facility.
- Transfer UAE-validated blends, operating standards, and quality-control processes to the new equipment.
- Recruit, train, and manage local operators and maintenance technicians.
