Role Overview
The Ticketing Technical Lead will supervise and verify vendor-delivered ticketing systems at public transport operator level.
The role covers bus, metro, and rail systems and reports to the Project Manager for the assigned project.
The position is based in Dubai in the client's office.
Main Duties
- Supervise vendor-delivered ticket vending machines, validators, and related ticketing equipment.
- Ensure project delivery complies with client requirements and contractual obligations.
- Identify technical issues, prioritize resolutions, and prepare client recommendations.
- Support migration plans and ABT implementation across bus and multimodal systems.
- Assist with vendor selection during tender stages.
- Review technical designs, feasibility, and project deliverables.
- Supervise testing, installation, Take Over Certification, and post-launch activities.
- Advise on ticketing system obsolescence and upgrades.
- Prepare status reports and technical materials for project and executive reviews.
Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical degree is essential.
- At least 10 years of ticketing industry experience, including significant bus sector exposure, is required.
- At least 5 years of hands-on ABT and open-loop project experience from design through commissioning is required.
Technical Skills
- Strong public transport ticketing knowledge covering bus systems alongside metro and rail is required.
- Knowledge of ABT, open-loop, card-based, and QR-code ticketing is required.
- AFC migration experience, integrated multimodal ticketing, and familiarity with bus fare devices are advantageous.
Professional Skills
- Fluent English is required.
- The role requires solution orientation, customer focus, leadership, multitasking, project management, and adaptability.
- The successful candidate should work effectively in multicultural teams and guide technical discussions.
Workplace
- The position is on-site in the client's Dubai office.
