Job Summary

This position supports Commander, Undersea Warfighting Development Center Detachment San Diego, CA. The person in this position serves as the UWDC Theater Anti-Submarine Warfare (TASW) Training and Assessment Department subject matter expert in Future Plans (FPLANS) and Future Operations (FOPS), and provides guidance and mentoring to the TASW Training and Assessment program in the planning, management, execution and assessment of TASW training events worldwide, including the conduct of presentations to Flag/General Officers, Senior Executive Service (SES) and other senior military and civilian leaders. Additionally, the person in this position will serve as UWDC’s primary program manager for the execution of the Submarine Operations Review Group (ORG) / Submarine Operations Group (SOG).

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Conduct training, qualifications, assessment and certification of TASW commands worldwide, to specifically include FPLANS and FOPS training and assessment. Participate in the development and communication of implementation strategies in support of integrated ASW training and development consistent with ASW CONOPS and doctrine.
Provide support for the UWDC Theater ASW Course of Instruction to include training and mentoring on mission planning and watch floor evolutions.
On behalf of the U.S. Submarine Force, manage the execution ORG/SOG.

Demonstrated expert level knowledge of TASW at the operational and tactical levels.
Demonstrated expert level knowledge of TASW FPLANS and FOPS.
3 years experience in TASW operations and TASW operational planning.
3 years experience in TASW training and assessment at TASWCs and SGASWCs.
5 years experience in project management.
3 years experience conducting presentations to senior military and civilian leaders.
5 years experience with Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information
Served submarine Department Head. Knowledge and experience with ORG/SOG program is desired, but not required.
Graduate of the Navy’s Maritime Staff Officer Course (MSOC) (or equivalent).
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration of study in a technical field or business related field. Masters Degree desired, but not required.
Expert knowledge of U.S. TASW doctrine and broad knowledge of ASW and Integrated ASW doctrine across all platforms and warfare communities.
Knowledge or equivalent experience in the organization and functions of major Naval/Marine Corps command staffs.
Demonstrated superior attention to detail, coupled with a proven history of working issues with other staff members, understanding their requirements, and the ability to solve problems independently
Must meet eligibility requirements to obtain Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Will be subject to government security investigation to gain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Requires access to Special Access Program (SAP) information at UWDC San Diego. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed and successful completion of polygraph examinations may be required on a recurring basis.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time without undue assistance.
Must be a U.S. citizen; must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
Must be able to travel extensively both domestically and internationally unassisted. Must have a drivers license or able to obtain a state driver’s license.
