Job Summary
Reliant Steel Construction is seeking an experienced Tekla Draftsman or Steel Detailer for its structural steel engineering and detailing team in Dubai.
The role produces structural steel models, fabrication and erection drawings, material outputs, connection details, and project documentation.
Workplace
- The work location is in person in Dubai, UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures from IFC, design, architectural, and structural drawings.
- Prepare shop, fabrication, assembly, single-part, General Arrangement, and erection drawings.
- Model structural steel members including beams, columns, trusses, bracings, staircases, platforms, canopies, secondary steel, and miscellaneous steel works.
- Detail bolted, welded, base plate, splice, end plate, cleat, stiffener, and other typical connections.
- Extract Bills of Materials, Material Take-Offs, bolt lists, assembly lists, and part lists from Tekla models.
- Generate NC/DSTV files for CNC fabrication where required.
- Review drawings for discrepancies, missing information, clashes, and constructability issues.
- Coordinate with engineers, fabrication teams, site engineers, erection teams, consultants, and project management.
- Incorporate approved comments and revisions and maintain accurate revision control.
- Prepare as-built drawings and final project documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with specifications, approved designs, standards, and QA/QC procedures.
- Complete models and drawings within project programmes, submission deadlines, and fabrication schedules.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
- Two to five years of experience in structural steel detailing using Tekla Structures.
- Strong hands-on experience with Tekla Structures is mandatory.
- Good understanding of structural steel fabrication, welding, bolting, connection detailing, and erection practices.
- Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and IFC drawings independently.
- Experience preparing fabrication or shop drawings for structural steel projects.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of AISC, BS/EN, ASTM, and project-specific specifications is preferred.
- UAE or GCC project experience is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify drawing or model discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate effectively, handle multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with complex structural steel buildings and industrial structures is preferred.
- Experience with steel staircases, platforms, trusses, canopies, and architectural steel is preferred.
- Experience with connection modeling, detailing, Tekla model coordination, and clash detection is preferred.
- Experience generating CNC, NC, or DSTV files is preferred.
- Material optimization, fabrication-friendly detailing, UAE structural steel projects, BIM coordination, and model-based project delivery are preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 2,352.41 to AED 7,544.77 per month.
