Role Overview

  • The Technology – Director, MedTech Surgery Emerging Markets (MEA, CEE, South Africa, Turkey, Russia & CIS) is a business strategist and product minded technology leader.
  • Partners closely with regional MedTech leadership team to shape growth strategies, modernize platforms, and deliver differentiated digital and AI capabilities.
  • Serves as critical point of connection between business strategy and technology execution, developing technology as a competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities Strategy & Outcomes

  • Co create regional technology strategy for Surgery in alignment with MedTech business goals; translate strategy into prioritized multi year product and platform roadmap.
  • Develop technology as a competitive advantage—accelerating innovation, simplification, and go to market agility.
  • Serve as strategic technology partner to regional senior leaders; jointly identify opportunities.
  • Provide accountable technology leadership for end to end BU outcomes.
  • Develop compliant technology through strong partnership with Cybersecurity, Regulatory Affairs, Legal Affairs etc.
  • Build strong cross region partnership to leverage technology efforts.

Key Responsibilities AI, Data & Digital

  • Operationalize AI/ML and GenAI across commercial, supply chain, service, and R&D adjacent use cases.
  • Use power of data and analytics to deliver actionable insights; champion interoperable data platforms and privacy by design.

Key Responsibilities Product Management & Delivery

  • Drive disciplined product management (HPT) approach to ideate, build, and scale high impact solutions.
  • Own business technology portfolio for region—prioritization, funding, delivery, adoption, and benefits realization.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Talent

  • Lead and develop high performing team of product, engineering, data, and delivery leaders.
  • Bring entrepreneurial, externally networked mindset; curate outside in innovation and strategic partnerships.
  • Drive people leadership responsibilities as leader of people leaders.

Key Responsibilities Financials & Governance

  • Develop and manage fit for purpose regional technology budget.
  • Uphold quality, cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance expectations for MedTech software/services.

Key Responsibilities Stakeholder & Market Impact

  • Ensure technology enables successful product launches and lifecycle management in region.
  • Champion customer centric design with providers, payers, and health systems.
  • Play critical role in coordinating customers’ engagement in technology aspects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business); Master’s preferred.
  • 8+ years in technology leadership with direct experience leading line of business, engineering, data operations, or product teams.
  • 6+ years of people leadership operating at scale in matrixed environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology to solve business problems with exceptional communication and stakeholder partnership.
  • Experience with business processes (bids & tenders, order to cash, customer engagement) and their interface with ERP, CRM, MES.
  • Proven track record in product management, agile delivery, and portfolio governance.
  • Fluency with cloud, APIs, data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML/GenAI; hands on leadership implementing these capabilities beyond pilot stages.
  • Experience modernizing legacy environments while introducing new digital and AI enabled solutions safely and compliantly.
  • Proven collaborator with ability to influence decisions across complex, matrixed organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MedTech Surgery domain exposure (e.g., digital surgery and robotics, imaging/computer vision, connected capital equipment).
  • Demonstrated experience working with clinical, commercial, and supply chain stakeholders across multi country regional footprints.
  • Demonstrated success hiring and developing outstanding technical and product talent; recognized executive presence and change leadership.
