Role information

Senior HVAC technician role in the Engineering & Facilities category at Westin Hotels & Resorts.

The position is based at Salwa Road in Doha, Qatar.

The schedule is full time and the position is not remote.

The position type is non-management.

Technical maintenance duties

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC, air-quality-control, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Maintain and inspect the mechanical plant daily.
  • Monitor hotel temperature, energy use, and utility consumption.
  • Calibrate controls, indicators, gauges, and other instruments.
  • Operate system shutoff valves and maintain piping, fittings, and valves.
  • Install, test, and maintain electrical systems and electronic wiring.
  • Perform routine maintenance of pool and spa equipment.

Safety and service duties

  • Follow company and safety policies, report maintenance hazards and incidents, and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance, protect confidential information, and safeguard company property.
  • Welcome guests according to company standards and anticipate and address their service needs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Identify and implement improvements to organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.

Required qualifications

  • United States EPA universal certification is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • HVAC certification is required.

Desirable qualifications

  • A degree from a technical, trade, or vocational school is desirable.
  • At least three years of related work experience is desirable.
  • Previous supervisory experience is not required.

Physical requirements

The role involves working overhead, below the knees, in confined or elevated spaces, and on inclined, uneven, or slippery surfaces.

The role involves climbing stairs, service ramps, and ladders and handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently.

The role may require assisting with moving, lifting, carrying, and positioning objects weighing more than 100 pounds.

Other reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.
