Technical Writer

Employee will be working within an office environment.

Employee may be expected to travel on occasion to locations where specific PPE or attire is necessary.

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 1+ years of professional experience in technical writing, technical publications, technical data development, or a related field.
• Experience developing or revising technical manuals, IETMs, NATOPS/NATIP publications.
• Familiarity with S1000D and structured technical publication concepts.
• Familiarity with EAGLE, Arbortext, or equivalent technical publication and structured authoring tools.
• Strong technical writing, grammar, editing, research, and communication skills.
• US Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Security Clearance is required.

• Experience supporting DoD aerospace, aviation, training system, or other complex defense programs.
• Experience developing or revising Navy IETMs and NATOPS/NATIP publications.
• Experience developing new technical content from aircraft or system engineering source data.
• Experience developing operational and maintenance procedures for complex hardware/software systems.
• Experience supporting technical publication validation and verification activities.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and working within cost and schedule-controlled DoD programs.
• Experience supporting AS9100 or equivalent Quality Management System requirements.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is preferred.

• This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
