Role Overview
The Technical Support Specialist provides technical assistance to end users on a contract basis.
The role supports distributed users by troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and IT system issues to minimize downtime.
Location and Work Arrangement
- The position is remote and can be performed from anywhere.
Payout
- The stated payout is $30 to $55 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support by phone, email, or chat for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Diagnose and resolve operating system, application, peripheral, and computer system problems.
- Escalate complex issues while tracking and documenting resolution progress.
- Manage user accounts, including password resets and access provisioning.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and support software licensing compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in computer user support or a help desk role.
- Proficiency troubleshooting Windows and macOS operating systems and common software applications.
- Strong problem-solving ability and the ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical users.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Zendesk.
- Customer service orientation focused on responsiveness and clear communication.
