Job Summary

  • We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager– Paraplanning to lead the paraplanning team while preparing high quality Statements of Advice (SoAs) for Australian financial advisers.
  • The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of Australian financial planning, experience with Xplan and AdviserLogic, and the ability to mentor team members while ensuring compliance and timely delivery of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and draft Statements of Advice (SoAs).
  • Analyse client financial information and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare financial projections and calculations, including retirement, superannuation, pension, cash flow, contribution strategies, and tax calculations.
  • Ensure all advice documents comply with ASIC regulations, licensee requirements, and internal compliance standards.
  • Liaise with financial advisers, client service teams, and external providers to gather required information.
  • Conduct quality checks on advice documents and supporting calculations.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes relevant to financial planning.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior paraplanners.
  • Manage multiple client files while meeting agreed turnaround times.
  • Use Xplan and/or AdviserLogic to prepare and generate Statements of Advice.
  • Troubleshoot issues within Xplan or AdviserLogic, including merge errors and data inconsistencies.
  • Support process improvements and contribute to the efficient operation of the paraplanning team.

Key Qualifications & Experiences

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in paraplanning or financial planning.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong proficiency in Xplan and AdviserLogic.
  • Good understanding of Australian financial planning regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team.
  • Experience in process improvement and workflow management is an advantage.
