Key accountabilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and provide L2 support for Value Added Services platforms, primarily SMSC and USSD.
- Manage production incidents, impact assessments, incident bridges, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective actions.
- Administer Linux systems and perform basic to intermediate scripting and database troubleshooting.
- Monitor application health, performance, availability, and operational risks.
- Support deployments, upgrades, patches, releases, documentation, and knowledge management.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Customer Support teams on resolution and change activities.
- Follow ITIL processes, operational governance, and customer SLAs.
Required technical skills
- SMSC and USSD Value Added Services platforms.
- Linux operating systems.
- Incident handling, Root Cause Analysis, and production support.
- Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting at basic to intermediate level.
- MySQL or Oracle database administration and troubleshooting.
- Basic GSM architecture and telecom network elements knowledge.
- Basic understanding of operating system virtualization technologies.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of SMSC and USSD Value Added Services platforms.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and system administration.
- Experience handling incidents, production support, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Basic to intermediate scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Basic to intermediate database administration and troubleshooting with MySQL or Oracle.
- Basic knowledge of GSM architecture and telecom network elements.
- Basic understanding of operating system virtualization technologies.
