Position Overview
The employer is hiring a Technical Lead, Data & Analytics for a fast-growing Canadian consumer goods distributor investing in data, analytics, and AI.
The role leads a small hands-on team across data engineering, business intelligence, and analysis.
The lead sets direction for data pipelines, warehousing, reporting, governance, and AI-assisted decision making.
Work Type
- The position is hybrid in Markham, Ontario, with 2-3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization's data and analytics strategy against business goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Lead and develop a small team spanning data engineering, BI development, and analysis.
- Build and troubleshoot with the team across SQL, Python, BigQuery, dbt, and the Microsoft data ecosystem.
- Own data governance covering quality, lineage, access, and compliance.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and leadership on data requirements and decisions.
- Lead AI-assisted data infrastructure foundations and manage concurrent BI and data initiatives.
- Improve engineering maturity through documentation, code review, version control, and consistent delivery.
