Technical Documentation Engineer

We are hiring a Technical Documentation Engineer to create and maintain assembly work instructions, maintenance and flight manuals, test procedures, and the compliance documentation our certification and export processes depend on.

• Write and maintain manufacturing work instructions, assembly drawings callouts, and station-level SOPs for sub-assembly, final assembly, calibration, and flight test, with photos and exploded views operators can follow without guesswork
• Produce user-facing documentation: flight manuals, quick-start guides, maintenance and repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogues, and payload/camera integration guides for each drone model and variant
• Write and control test procedures, inspection checklists, acceptance test reports, and calibration records used by production and QC
• Own the engineering change process from the documentation side: update affected drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and manuals when an ECO is released, and manage revision control and effectivity
• Maintain the document control system (PLM/PDM or document management), including numbering, templates, approval workflows, and controlled distribution to the shop floor
• Prepare and organise technical files for regulatory and certification work: CE/UKCA technical documentation, FCC/ISED radio compliance, EASA C-class marking, and other market-access dossiers, working with the compliance lead
• Create training material for assembly operators, field technicians, and customer pilots, including short video and step-by-step guides
• Capture tribal knowledge from engineers and senior technicians and turn it into repeatable written procedures
• Coordinate translations where required for target markets

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3+ years writing technical documentation for hardware products — aerospace, UAV, automotive, electronics, or industrial equipment — including at least some work in a manufacturing environment
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, wiring diagrams, and BOMs, and to get hands-on with the product to understand what you are documenting
