Technical Director – Electrical Engineering

This is more than a traditional technical leadership role.

While a strong technical foundation is important, success in this position is equally about people leadership, team development and creating an environment where engineers can perform at their best.

You'll have the opportunity to influence the future direction of HDR's Electrical Engineering practice by developing talent, strengthening technical capabilities and supporting the delivery of impactful projects across multiple sectors.

A degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or equivalent.

15-20+ years of electrical engineering experience within consulting, infrastructure, utilities, energy, buildings, industrial or related sectors.

Demonstrated experience leading and developing engineering teams.

Strong technical knowledge across electrical engineering systems, including LV, MV and HV infrastructure.

Experience supporting complex multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Strong understanding of Australian standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

A track record of mentoring and developing engineers at various career stages.

Experience participating in recruitment, workforce planning and capability development.

Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.

Experience contributing to business growth, strategic initiatives and operational performance.
