About the Role
CRRC (Hong Kong) Co. Limited – Dubai Branch seeks a Technical Design Manager to lead the design and engineering of metro power supply systems. The role requires 12-15 years of electrical power supply experience with at least 8 years in metro/rail projects.

Responsibilities
- Lead the complete design development of metro power supply systems from concept to detailed design
- Review and approve design calculations, drawings, reports, and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with Employer Requirements, contract specifications, and applicable IEC, EN, IEEE, and local standards
- Manage design consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers during all design stages
- Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces with Civil, Track, Signaling, Telecom, Rolling Stock, E&M, and SCADA teams
- Define power supply architecture and redundancy philosophy
- Lead design and review of utility grid connections, HV substations, MV distribution networks, Traction Power Substations, rectifier substations, 750V DC/1500V DC traction systems, third rail and OCS systems, LV distribution systems, UPS and battery systems, earthing & bonding systems
- Review power demand calculations and equipment sizing
- Review and approve load flow studies, short circuit studies, voltage drop analysis, harmonic analysis, stray current studies, EMC/EMI studies, regenerative braking assessments, reliability and availability studies
- Validate traction power simulations and operational scenarios
- Interface with utility authorities, client representatives, independent assessors, and regulatory bodies
- Participate in design review meetings and technical workshops
Requirements
- Minimum 12–15 years of electrical power supply experience
- Minimum 8 years in metro, railway, LRT, or mass transit projects
- Proven experience in design management of traction power systems
- Experience with 750V DC or 1500V DC traction systems
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Master's Degree in Power Systems Engineering (preferred)
- Professional Engineering registration/certification (preferred)

Job Purpose
- To lead and manage the design, engineering, coordination, and technical assurance of all metro power supply systems, including traction power, HV/MV/LV distribution, substations, SCADA interfaces, earthing & bonding, EMC, and related electrical infrastructure.
- The role ensures that all designs comply with project requirements, international standards, safety requirements, and operational performance criteria.
