The Role
Technical Design Lead and Senior Technical Interior Designer responsible for technical development and delivery of interior design projects.
The hands-on role translates approved design concepts into coordinated tender and construction packages for pricing and construction.
The position focuses on technical delivery rather than concept design or 3D visualization.
Schedule and Location
- This is a full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complete tender and construction drawing packages.
- Produce plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Develop joinery, millwork, ceiling, flooring, wall-cladding, and bathroom packages.
- Prepare lighting, power, plumbing, and sanitary layouts.
- Coordinate BOQs, quantity take-offs, material specifications, and schedules.
- Review architectural and MEP drawings for clashes and missing information.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and the internal design team.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals.
- Respond to technical RFIs and support construction.
- Maintain drawing standards and guide junior and mid-level designers.
Requirements
- A degree in interior design, interior architecture, architecture, or a related field is required.
- At least 6 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Strong experience leading complete technical packages for interior fit-out projects is required.
- Advanced AutoCAD and strong interior construction, detailing, materials, finishes, and joinery knowledge are required.
- Experience with BOQs, specifications, schedules, and MEP coordination is required.
- Strong technical problem-solving, coordination, attention to detail, and multi-project management skills are required.
- Fluent written and spoken English is required.
- Experience across high-end residential, hospitality, F&B, or commercial interiors is required.
- Qatar or GCC experience is preferred.
