Technical Data Steward

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Data Steward, Data Analyst, BI, or related data role .
• Demonstrated experience in Data Governance and Stewardship, with a well-rounded understanding of data ownership, quality, governance, and accountability—not limited to reporting and analytics.
• Exposure to metadata management, data lineage, and data catalogue concepts within an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience using data governance tools.
• Proven experience partnering with business stakeholders to define data definitions, business rules, and data standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with business SMEs.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview or other data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation).
• Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.

• Experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data catalogue / governance tools
• Understanding of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including governed self ‑ service analytics
• Experience working in Agile teams with knowledge of Scrum or Kanban
• Understanding of data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g. APRA, GDPR fundamentals)

To be considered for this role you will have / be:

• Bachelor's degree in information management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required .
• A Master’s degree in Data Management , Business Administration, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGCP (Data Governance and Compliance Professional) are highly valued.
