About the Role
BASF seeks a Technical Commercial Manager to support customers across the GCC region through technical application expertise and business development. The role requires 5+ years of experience in Surface Treatment or related industries, with strong technical knowledge and a commercial mindset.

Responsibilities
- Drive business growth through technical engagement, customer acquisition, application development, and identification of new market opportunities
- Conduct customer visits, process audits, product trials, and technical evaluations to improve customer processes and performance
- Lead the implementation of new products, applications, and process improvements at customer sites
- Troubleshoot technical challenges, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to enhance customer satisfaction
- Deliver technical training and product related support to customers, distributors, and internal teams
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments relevant to Surface Treatment applications
- Manage customer accounts and projects through technical consultancy, commercial coordination, pricing management, and relationship development
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Surface Treatment, Coatings, Chemical Processing, or a related industry, including customer facing technical and commercial responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Surface Treatment processes, industrial applications, and manufacturing environments
- Strong commercial mindset with an entrepreneurial, proactive, and customer focused approach
- Excellent project management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and/or Salesforce is advantageous
- Fluent English communication skills; Arabic is highly preferred
- Willingness to travel extensively across the Middle East

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- The Technical Commercial Manager is responsible for supporting customers across the GCC region through technical application expertise, process optimization, and business development activities.
Duties
- Drive business growth through technical engagement, customer acquisition, application development, and identification of new market opportunities
- Conduct customer visits, process audits, product trials, and technical evaluations to improve customer processes and performance
- Lead the implementation of new products, applications, and process improvements at customer sites
- Troubleshoot technical challenges, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to enhance customer satisfaction
- Deliver technical training and product related support to customers, distributors, and internal teams
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments relevant to Surface Treatment applications
- Manage customer accounts and projects through technical consultancy, commercial coordination, pricing management, and relationship development
- Conduct market and competitive analyses to identify growth opportunities and support commercial strategy
- Align customer requirements with supply chain activities to ensure reliable product availability and timely delivery
- Act as the commercial interface with regional marketing and segment management teams
- Provide ongoing technical and commercial support to drive successful product implementation, customer retention, and business growth
- Support initiatives to optimize inventory levels and reduce customer overdues
WHAT YOU OFFER
- Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Surface Treatment, Coatings, Chemical Processing, or a related industry, including customer facing technical and commercial responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Surface Treatment processes, industrial applications, and manufacturing environments, with experience in technical troubleshooting, product trials, process optimization, and customer training
- Experience in Coil Coatings, Cold Forming, Beverage Cans, Metal Working Fluids, or related applications is advantageous
- Experience within the Middle East market is preferred
- Strong commercial mindset with an entrepreneurial, proactive, and customer focused approach
- Excellent project management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels and multicultural environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and/or Salesforce is advantageous
- Fluent English communication skills; Arabic is highly preferred. Additional language skills such as Hindi, Malay, or German are advantageous.
