Technical Architect / Interior Designer

About the Role

Design & Concept Development

• Develop architectural and interior design concepts for residential renovation and fit-out projects.
• Prepare space planning and layout proposals based on client requirements and project constraints.
• Develop mood boards, material palettes, finishes, and design presentations.
• Select and specify materials, finishes, fixtures, fittings, sanitaryware, lighting, furniture, and other interior elements.
• Produce creative and practical design solutions while considering budget, functionality, and buildability.
• Prepare presentations and design proposals for client review and approval.
• Revise and develop designs based on client feedback and project requirements.

Technical Design & Documentation

• Produce detailed architectural and interior design drawings suitable for construction.
• Prepare floor plans, demolition plans, proposed layouts, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, joinery details, bathroom details, kitchen details, and other technical drawings.
• Prepare detailed joinery and custom furniture drawings.
• Develop construction details for walls, ceilings, partitions, flooring, bathrooms, kitchens, and other architectural elements.
• Prepare material and finish schedules.
• Coordinate design details with structural, civil, MEP, and swimming pool requirements where applicable.
• Review and coordinate drawings to identify potential clashes or construction issues before site execution.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, coordinated, practical, and sufficiently detailed for site teams and subcontractors.

Site Coordination & Project Execution

• Conduct site visits and take accurate site measurements.
• Coordinate directly with project managers, site engineers, MEP engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Provide technical clarification and design support during construction.
• Review workmanship and ensure execution is aligned with approved drawings and design intent.
• Identify design or technical issues on site and develop practical solutions.
• Assist with material approvals, samples, mock-ups, and finish selections.
• Monitor architectural and interior works to ensure quality and attention to detail.
• Coordinate changes between design drawings and actual site conditions.
• Prepare or update as-built drawings where required.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Residential architecture and interior design.
• Villa renovation and refurbishment.
• Interior fit-out and finishing works.
• Construction detailing and buildability.
• Joinery and custom furniture design.
• Kitchens and wardrobes.
• Bathroom design and detailing.
• Flooring, wall finishes, and ceiling systems.
• Lighting layouts and coordination.
• Material specifications and finish selection.
• Waterproofing and wet-area detailing.
• MEP coordination.

Software Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Proficiency in Revit is preferred.
• Proficiency in 3ds Max or other 3D modelling software is an advantage.
• Proficiency in V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, or similar rendering software is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or similar presentation software is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Interior Designer, or Architectural/Interior Designer within construction, renovation, fit-out, or design consultancy.
• Strong ability to produce detailed and construction-ready technical drawings.
• Experience working on residential, villa, renovation, and/or high-end interior projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and finishing works.
• Ability to translate design concepts into practical and buildable solutions.
• Experience coordinating with MEP engineers and other construction disciplines.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• UAE/Dubai experience is preferred.
• A portfolio demonstrating both design capability and technical detailing is required.
