The CT Technologist I (non-registered) assists in performing high-quality CT examinations under the supervision of a registered CT technologist and/or radiologist.
This role supports inpatient and/or outpatient CT operations by preparing patients, assisting with positioning, operating CT equipment within the approved scope of practice, ensuring safety, and delivering compassionate patient care.
The technologist follows departmental protocols, radiation safety standards, and regulatory guidelines while actively progressing toward full CT competency and ARRT (CT) certification.
The technologist must become CT-registered within 12 months of hiring into the CT department.

Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.
CT-specific education or cross-training participation preferred but not required.
Current ARRT (R) certification required.
ARRT (CT) certification required within 12 months of entering this position, whether through new hire or internal transfer.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Current Texas Medical Board (TMB) licensure required.
Basic understanding of CT fundamentals, anatomy, and radiation safety.
Willingness to learn CT physics, CT angiography, trauma CT, and cardiac CT imaging.
Ability to learn EPIC, PACS, injector systems, and CT workflow applications.
Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under supervision.
Effective organizational and time-management abilities.
May require evening, night, weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts.
Must maintain progress toward CT competencies and training milestones.
Completes annual CT safety, radiation safety, and contrast competency requirements.
Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and commitment to high-quality patient care.
Actively participates in education and preparation for ARRT (CT) certification.
Ability to lift, position, and assist patients and equipment.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Adequate vision, hearing, coordination, and fine motor skills to safely assist with CT operations.
Ability to perform detailed tasks despite interruptions and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Exposure to radiation, biohazards, communicable diseases, and bodily fluids.
Nonprofit hospital system providing inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and community healthcare to Wichita Falls and surrounding North Texas.
