Role Overview
Experienced team member responsible for the instrumentation and automation function in a drug substance manufacturing plant.
The role supports reliable, efficient, and compliant biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies for instrumentation and automation equipment in the drug substance manufacturing area.
- Perform equipment qualification according to cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions and minimize disruption to production timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams on automation-led process optimization.
- Stay current on relevant instrumentation and automation advances.
- Maintain technical documentation for all instrumentation and automation systems.
- Prepare for and participate in related audits and inspections.
- Follow plant safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation, electronics and communication, electrical, computer science engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in a biopharmaceutical or similar aseptic manufacturing environment focused on instrumentation and automation.
- Proven experience in a technical environment.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of cGMP regulations and GAMP 5 guidelines.
- In-depth knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Experience with DCS, SCADA, PLC, or similar automation systems.
- Troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and task prioritization skills.
