Responsibilities
- Advise and guide the organization on tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing transactions
- Analyze proposed restructuring and acquisition transactions
- Lead tax aspects of deal and project valuation modeling efforts, financings, and contract structuring
- Interpret complex statutory and regulatory actions relating to corporate and partnership transactions
- Develop and implement tax efficient M&A structuring initiatives
- Identify and implement value added state income tax planning opportunities
- Participate in nationwide legislative monitoring efforts, including identification, tracking and analysis of key state and local tax legislation
- Identify and obtain state credits and incentives
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience
- 5+ years of supervisor/management experience
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Active CPA license or LLM degree highly preferred
- Master's in Accounting/Finance preferred

Position Specific Description
- NextEra Energy Inc. is seeking a senior level tax professional to join our dynamic, creative organization in Juno Beach, FL, in the area of state income tax research and planning.
- You will be the primary contact for state income tax support for NextEra Energy’s Tax M&A team, reporting to the Sr. Tax Director, State Planning.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Advises and guides the organization on the tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing transactions of all sizes.
- Analyzes proposed restructuring and acquisition transactions.
- Leads tax aspects of deal and project valuation modeling efforts, financings, and contract structuring.
- Interprets complex statutory and regulatory actions relating to corporate and partnership transactions.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 10+ years
- Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Master's Accounting / Finance
- LLM Master of Laws
