Role Description

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Tandoori dishes, including breads, kebabs, and curries, using traditional techniques and maintaining consistent quality and taste.
  • Marinate and season ingredients.
  • Manage the tandoor oven.
  • Plan and execute menu items.
  • Ensure proper portioning and presentation.
  • Maintain food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff.
  • Support inventory and ordering.
  • Assist with menu development and specials as needed.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver a high quality dining experience that aligns with the hotel’s luxury brand.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Tandoori cooking techniques, including marination, seasoning, and tandoor oven operation.
  • Strong skills in Indian cuisine preparation, with a focus on kebabs, curries, breads, and traditional accompaniments.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
  • Ability to manage kitchen workflow, coordinate with team members, and maintain consistency during peak service times.
  • Experience in menu planning, portion control, and food presentation suited to a luxury hotel environment.
  • Previous professional experience as a Tandoori Chef or in a similar role within restaurants or hotels.
  • Capability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work respectfully in a diverse, multicultural team.
  • Culinary certification or formal training in Indian or Asian cuisine is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with UAE or international hospitality standards is an advantage.
