Position Overview
Blackbird Security is hiring Tactical Security Guards in Coquitlam, British Columbia.
The role is based in a retail environment and focuses on theft prevention, asset protection, customer service, and incident response.
Duties
- Prevent shoplifting while providing customer service to clients, patrons, and customers.
- Patrol store aisles, monitor customers, and watch security camera footage.
- Confront suspected shoplifters, escort trespassers from the premises, and recover unpaid merchandise.
- Perform arrests and detainments in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Document theft and other security incidents.
- Escalate situations to law enforcement and respond appropriately to emergencies.
Candidate Requirements
- A valid British Columbia Security License is required.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills are required.
- Previous retail security experience is sought but is not explicitly stated as mandatory.
- Candidates should be willing to attend meetings, improve their skills, work without close supervision, and show interest in asset protection and crime prevention.
