Systems Software Senior Engineer

The Systems Software Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring the functionality, stability, security, and continued improvement of TTEC’s enterprise systems environment.

This role requires broad technical proficiency, strong ownership, and the ability to support a wide range of technologies, including areas outside a primary subject matter expertise.

The successful candidate understands how adjacent technical domains integrate with core infrastructure systems, builds strong collaborative relationships across teams, works independently with minimal guidance, and contributes to the development of peers through mentoring, documentation, and technical leadership.

• Active Directory and core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PKI, clustering)
• Systems management and automation (Microsoft Intune, Configuration Manager, Tanium, PowerShell)

• Provide senior-level engineering support and technical ownership for highly distributed, multi-domain Active Directory and hybrid identity environments.
• Use AI-enabled productivity and engineering tools responsibly to improve troubleshooting, documentation, automation, analysis, and operational efficiency in accordance with company security and data governance policies.
• Design, develop, and maintain advanced PowerShell and script-based automation for operational tasks, reporting, remediation, configuration management, and API-based integrations.
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for Windows-based systems, core infrastructure services, identity platforms, messaging, endpoint management, and related enterprise technologies.
• Analyze, design, and improve processes that increase operational maturity, reduce manual effort, improve service reliability, and strengthen the overall engineering practice.
• Develop and maintain support documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and engineering standards that enable consistent support across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 teams.
• Engineer, implement, configure, maintain, and retire Microsoft and enterprise infrastructure technologies throughout the full technology lifecycle.
• Apply security-by-design principles and best practice controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of customer, employee, and enterprise data.
• Plan, document, schedule, implement, validate, and communicate system changes in accordance with TTEC operational guidelines, change management practices, and audit requirements.
• Maintain architecture notes, design decisions, operational procedures, and standards that support repeatable and sustainable operations.
• Partner proactively with Operations, Information Security, Networking, Application, and business teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet performance, compliance, security, and reliability goals.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support, including nights and weekends, as required to support business-critical services.

· Drive strategic engineering initiatives, including automation, modernization, hybrid cloud integration, infrastructure as code, and platform reliability improvements.

· Lead the design and implementation of high-impact systems and solutions that span multiple technical domains, platforms, and business units.

· Mentor and support other engineers through design reviews, peer coaching, technical guidance, documentation standards, and knowledge sharing.

· Own and evolve engineering standards, reusable automation, operational runbooks, and support models that improve consistency, scalability, and maintainability.

· Influence operational maturity through process improvement, tool adoption, service reliability practices, and cross-functional collaboration.

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience, including demonstrated ownership of complex enterprise systems, cross-functional projects, and Tier 3 escalations.
• Demonstrated Tier 3 engineering experience supporting enterprise-scale Windows Server environments and infrastructure services.
• Advanced experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, LDAP, and hybrid identity integration.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience, including operational automation, reporting, remediation, and API-based integrations.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, endpoint management, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience supporting hybrid identity environments, including MFA, SSO, conditional access, lifecycle management, and federation technologies such as Okta or Ping.
• Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, backup validation, monitoring, alerting, and service reliability practices.
• Demonstrated ability to apply security-by-design principles, including least privilege access, privileged access management, vulnerability remediation, secure configuration baselines, and audit readiness.
• Experience participating in incident, problem, and change management processes in an enterprise ITIL-based environment.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including nights and weekends as required.
• Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across teams without direct authority.

· Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent certifications.

· Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or similar technologies.

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based change management, or automation lifecycle practices.

· Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.

· Experience with backup, storage, virtualization, and recovery platforms such as Cohesity, NetApp, Nutanix, and VMware.

· Experience with identity providers and access platforms such as Okta, Ping, MFA, SSO, conditional access, and federation.

· Experience using AI-enabled productivity or engineering tools responsibly to improve documentation, troubleshooting, automation, analysis, and operational efficiency while following company security and data governance policies.

· Broad technical range, with the ability to work across multiple toolsets, platforms, and infrastructure domains beyond a single technology stack.

· Strong institutional awareness and the ability to understand how technical decisions affect teams, platforms, customers, and business outcomes.

· Proven ability to lead through influence by driving change, mentoring others, and delivering strategic outcomes without formal authority.

· High degree of self-direction, reliability, and follow-through, with the ability to take initiative and drive work to completion with minimal oversight.
