Role Overview
The Systems Engineer III is a hands-on endpoint engineering role managing corporate and retail Windows and macOS devices.
The role owns endpoint configuration, application deployment, patching, compliance, automation, and continuous improvement across a distributed fleet.
Platform strategy is set with supervisors and senior engineers, while this role owns builds, rollouts, technical recommendations, and service desk escalation.
Essential Functions
- Build and maintain Windows and macOS configuration profiles, compliance policies, and security baselines using Intune and Kandji.
- Administer Configuration Manager and support migration of Windows devices to Intune and Windows Autopilot.
- Manage Windows Autopilot and Apple Business Manager zero-touch enrollment processes.
- Plan and execute operating system patching and feature update campaigns with pilots, phased rollouts, communications, and rollback planning.
- Package, test, and deploy applications and updates using Tanium, Intune, Patch My PC, and Kandji.
- Develop PowerShell automation for remediation, reporting, bulk operations, lifecycle tasks, and Graph API interactions.
- Maintain disk encryption, local administrator, certificate, and CIS benchmark security controls.
- Configure Conditional Access and device compliance policies in Microsoft Entra ID.
