Systems Administrator

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers (Linux and Windows) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP): provisioning, cost management, backups, and monitoring.
• Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and implement tuning and scaling.
• Administer network components (switches, routers, firewalls) and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Implement and maintain security controls: patch management, access controls, hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions; perform regular restore tests.
• Support identity and access management (Active Directory/Azure AD, LDAP, SSO).
• Automate routine tasks using scripts (Bash, PowerShell, Python) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Provide L2/L3 support and collaborate with dev and ops teams on deployments and incident response.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in systems administration or related role.
• Strong Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server experience.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes basics).
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Networking fundamentals and experience with firewalls, VLANs, routing.
• Scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, or Python) and familiarity with automation/IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK).
• Knowledge of backup solutions and DR planning.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications preferred (RHCE, MCSA, AWS Certified SysOps/Associate, Azure Administrator).
• English fluency required; Arabic a plus.
