Role Summary
G5 admins provide advanced first‑level troubleshooting and handle moderately complex issues across Windows servers, AD, and core infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot OS-level issues:
- Service dependencies failures
- OS performance degradation
- Log analysis using Event Viewer
- Perform user/group management in Active Directory.
- Manage access permissions using NTFS and share permissions.
- Troubleshoot DNS/DHCP issues at L1 depth.
- Support patching cycles (pre-checks, post-validation, failure reporting).
- Coordinate with backup teams for restore requests (files/folders).
- Troubleshoot RDP issues, login failures, profile corruption.
- Perform basic PowerShell commands for routine checks (non-destructive).
- Mentor and guide G4 resources in ticket handling and troubleshooting quality.
Skills Required
- 1–3 years Windows Admin/NOC experience.
- Good understanding of AD, GPO basics, Windows services, and networking basics.
- Familiarity with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) basics.
