System Test Engineer

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Create and apply embedded software and firmware quality tests for features and feature areas.
• Work independently and contribute to immediate and cross-business teams.
• Resolve issues using established procedures and consult senior team members when needed.
• Collaborate with others to solve technical issues.
• Exchange technical information and clarify understanding in customer-facing situations.
• Document, plan, market, and execute programs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ECE or EEE with at least three years of professional experience.
• Hands-on experience creating test strategies and validating substation automation products and solutions.
• Knowledge of serial SCADA protocols including DNP3, IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 60870-5-103, or Modbus.
• Knowledge of LAN-based SCADA protocols including IEC 61850-8-1, DNP3/TCP, IEC 60870-5-104, or Modbus TCP.
• Experience with Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Agile software development or project management methodologies.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and apply critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of LDAP or Active Directory administration is highly appreciated.
• Knowledge of virtualization using VMware, vCenter, or hypervisors is highly appreciated.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are desired.
