Role Overview

Join Wabtec teams supporting locomotive and off-highway mining vehicle products.

Serve as an interface between manufacturing, quality, and engineering groups for production test and repair facilities.

Develop and improve testing solutions, processes, and strategies across assigned areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
  • Experience in electrical or electromechanical assembly and test.
  • Test stand development experience involving instrumentation and programming.
  • Familiarity with production test development applications and processes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
  • At least 2 years of manufacturing experience and related systems or subsystem test experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system, subsystem, and component-level issues.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and electrical assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency with NI LabVIEW, AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, or Wilmor harnessing systems.
  • Experience with integrity, hipot, and functional testing of power and control electronic assemblies.
  • Strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience working safely with high-voltage and high-current test systems.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Interface with engineering and manufacturing to develop or improve manufacturing testing equipment through validation.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to test personnel and operational management.
  • Develop, document, and train testers to support global business priorities.
  • Plan, design, assemble, and commission new test systems.
  • Modify software on existing systems, develop software on new systems, and manage database test data.
  • Document test procedures, specifications, design documents, training, and operator support.
  • Drive continuous improvement and expansion of test systems for growth and new product introduction.

Compensation

  • The stated base salary range is $68,900 to $98,200.
  • Actual pay may depend on training, transferable skills, experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
  • Benefits may include health, welfare, retirement, and an annual bonus if eligible.
