- Perform MIL-STD-882 activities involving management, analysis, evaluation, and verification.
- Analyze engineering hardware, electrical drawings, and schematics for fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety compliance.
- Assist with hazard identification, risk assessment, and development of effective controls.
- Develop concise, testable safety requirements and analyze existing requirements from a safety perspective.
- Review test, tactical operating, and maintenance procedures to ensure appropriate safety controls are incorporated.
- Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Software, Electrical, Test, and other engineering disciplines.
- Work across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to eliminate hazards or develop practical mitigation strategies without compromising critical system performance.
- Support preparation of Safety Assessment Reports, Safety Program Briefs, and other technical documentation.
- Participate in technical reviews and the customer safety approval process.
- Interface with customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
- Interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and applicable military standards.
