We're looking for a Switch Person - Transloader to support our client site in Kitimat, BC by safely and efficiently switching tank cars, operating a railcar mover, and loading condensate products. If you have rail operations experience, a strong safety mindset, and enjoy working in an active industrial environment, this is an opportunity to play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Please Note: This is not a camp position . Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Kitimat, BC for this opportunity.
As a Switch Person - Transloader , you'll be responsible for the safe operation of rail equipment and the loading of tank cars while maintaining compliance with all site, company, and railway operating requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Safely operating a railcar mover to switch tank cars in and out of loading positions
Loading tank cars with condensate in accordance with site procedures
Inspecting, securing, and verifying railcars prior to movement and loading
Following all General Operating Instructions (GOI) and the site's Safety Management System (SMS)
Supporting and promoting a positive safety culture through active participation and hazard identification
Identifying, documenting, and reporting mechanical defects on mobile equipment
Completing required inspections, documentation, and compliance reports
Reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses while participating in incident investigations
Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Performing seasonal rail yard maintenance, including cleaning, blowing, and lubricating switches
Conducting basic equipment and process troubleshooting and escalating issues when necessary
Following all corporate policies, safe operating practices, procedures, and guidelines
This role is well-suited to someone who is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with site personnel.
