Position Summary
Lead sustaining engineering activities within Vertiv’s busbar division while supporting the growth and development of a small engineering team.
Combine technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on problem solving to improve product quality, manufacturability, and operational performance.
Work in an engineered-to-order environment and guide teams through complex technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead sustaining engineering activities, prioritize technical issues, manage design updates, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and development support for a team of engineers.
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to resolve design-related production issues.
- Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions that improve product quality, manufacturability, and operational readiness.
- Oversee engineering changes, including bill of material updates, drawing revisions, and release accuracy.
- Apply manufacturing-process knowledge to improve design for manufacturability and reduce recurring issues.
- Support new product introduction and transition products into production and long-term sustaining ownership.
- Participate in interviewing and selecting engineering talent and help onboard new team members.
