Sustainability Data & Carbon Analyst

Role overview

Duties

• Collect, validate and maintain environmental, energy and carbon data.
• Support annual carbon footprint calculations covering Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
• Maintain carbon datasets, reporting tools and data quality processes.
• Analyse emissions trends and identify carbon reduction opportunities.
• Track sustainability, retrofit and energy efficiency project outcomes.
• Support business cases for decarbonisation and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with assets, finance, procurement, operations and external partners.
• Translate analysis into clear information for colleagues and decision-makers.
• Assist ESG reporting, including SECR, SHIFT and internal reporting.
• Maintain sustainability KPIs and dashboards against reduction targets.
• Identify data gaps, reporting risks and quality issues and propose improvements.
• Support sustainability queries from customers, investors, funders and regulators.

Requirements

• Knowledge of climate change, carbon reduction and sustainability principles.
• Awareness of carbon accounting principles and Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
• Knowledge of ESG and sustainability reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical, organisational and data interpretation skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
• Experience of carbon, sustainability, ESG or environmental reporting.
• Experience using data dashboards, Power BI or other reporting tools.
• Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant sustainability, environment, data, engineering, geography, housing or built-environment subject.

Workplace

• The role is hybrid and requires onsite work two days per week.
• Candidates should live within a commutable distance of BD17 7BN.

Compensation

• Starting salary is from £29,978 per year.
