Job Summary:A Sushi Maker is responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes while maintaining cleanliness, food safety, and presentation standards.
The role includes preparing ingredients, making sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki rolls, and other Japanese dishes.
- Ensure freshness and quality of fish, seafood, rice, and ingredients.
- Prepare and cut fish, vegetables, and other ingredients properly.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and work area.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and inform management about shortages.
- Store ingredients properly according to safety standards.
- Assist in menu preparation and presentation.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation.
- Work closely with kitchen staff and management.
Requirements
- Experience as a Sushi Maker or Sushi Chef is preferred.
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques.
- Ability to handle kitchen tools and equipment safely.
- Good knife skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Team player with good communication skills.
