Own stock forecasting, factory reordering and freight management for the business.
Maintain product availability while managing inventory efficiently and limiting overstocking.
Work with manufacturing partners across Asia, freight forwarders and internal logistics teams.
Location and employment
- The role is based at the head office in Basildon, Essex.
- Employment type is full-time.
- Work location is in person.
Stock planning and purchasing
- Monitor sales velocity, stock turn and inventory health daily.
- Calculate reorder points, safety stock levels and lead-time buffers.
- Issue purchase orders to Asian suppliers and account for lead times, holidays and minimum order quantities.
- Track landed costs and supplier payment schedules against cash flow budgets.
Freight and inventory operations
- Negotiate ocean freight rates and optimise shipping schedules with freight forwarders.
- Track inbound shipments from Asian ports to destination ports.
- Optimise 40ft High Cube container utilisation by balancing weight, volume and product mix.
- Identify slow-moving stock and support promotional or markdown strategies.
Candidate requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in inventory planning, stock control or purchasing in retail, e-commerce or wholesale.
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and forecasting formulas.
- Ability to turn raw sales data into actionable reorder schedules.
- A proactive mindset and genuine initiative to improve processes and stock health.
- English is required.
- A Driving Licence is preferred.

Compensation
- Pay is £30,000 to £37,500 per year.
