Work Location and Schedule
- The position is based at the Torlake facility in Toronto.
- The role is onsite and works the night shift.
- Typical shifts are 8 to 12 hours per day, with possible additional time after hours and on weekends.
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and is part of the Operations Team.
The supervisor helps maintain a professional environment focused on customer service, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
The role is accountable for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and customer service in a food manufacturing facility.
Production Responsibilities
- Supervise shift production and maintain product flow against production requirements, specifications, and productivity targets.
- Manage production sequencing, equipment utilization, staffing, product costs, run times, line efficiencies, and capacity.
- Ensure schedules are met and communicate production issues accurately and promptly.
- Monitor production against plans and paperwork and communicate progress across the shift.
- Ensure raw materials, packaging, quality records, and required documentation are available and complete.
- Train team members on SOPs, GMPs, equipment, and health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, housekeeping, and safety standards.
- Complete shift handovers and verify timekeeping records.
- Support managers with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Education and Experience
- The role requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience in a food manufacturing facility is required.
- Post-secondary education in a related field is required.
- Hands-on and results-oriented supervisory experience is required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of preventive equipment maintenance and general mechanical processes is required.
- The supervisor must ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, workplace safety, and other regulatory standards.
- The role requires the ability to interpret safety, operating, maintenance, and procedure documents.
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency is required.
- The role requires mechanical troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and labour-relations skills.
- The supervisor works with a diverse workforce and solicits improvement suggestions from employees at all levels.
Compensation
- The annual base salary range is $75,598.00 to $96,046.65.
- The position includes an annual bonus subject to the applicable incentive program terms and conditions.

Physical and Work Environment
- The role may require standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
- Employees may need to wear personal protective equipment and may encounter heat, cold, humidity, vibrations, chemicals, fumes, allergens, confined spaces, dark spaces, or heights.
