Supervisor Parks (Internal Only)

In this role, you will support the planning, coordination and supervision of maintenance programs across the City’s parks, open spaces and sporting grounds. You will provide day-to-day leadership to operational staff, coordinate resources and contracted works, undertake inspections and promote best-practice horticultural maintenance to ensure safe, high-quality spaces for the community.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervise the team by encouraging inclusive, customer focused and accountable behaviours in line with the City’s values.

Help the team adapt to change and work together by showing self-awareness and encouraging teamwork and collaboration.

Manage rosters, budgets, tasks, and resources effectively to deliver quality outcomes, meet deadlines and minimise financial waste.

Undertaking inspection of works, estimating and determining the appropriate maintenance tasks are performed and accurate data is recorded for reporting purposes.

Draw on knowledge and experience to guide the team in resolving everyday problems.

Give clear and accurate information or advice to leaders, experts, and others in the organisation.

About you To be successful in this role, you will have a trade Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent relevant experience in the industry.

Essential Experience:

Demonstrated experience in supervisory or team leadership roles.

Effective planning abilities, with experience in budget, timelines, and workforce management.

Understanding of the capabilities and operations of plant and equipment used in performing maintenance activities as well as materials used in maintenance programs.

Demonstrated ability to effectively and accurately record maintenance works undertaken.

Understanding of playground equipment, inspections and play park maintenance requirements.

Current Victorian Drivers licence.

Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
