Role Purpose
The Super User – Controlling & Reporting acts as the primary business expert and first line of support for Controlling (CO) and management reporting processes within the ERP system.
The role bridges Finance, Business, and IT, ensuring accurate cost control, timely reporting, and continuous optimization of financial performance management processes.
This position supports day‑to‑day business operations, drives adoption of standard processes, and plays a key role in ERP transformation, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
1. Business Ownership & Process Excellence
· Act as the business owner for Controlling and Management Reporting processes.
· Ensure SAP FICO system usage aligns with business objectives and financial governance.
· Drive standardization of controlling and reporting processes across business units.
· Review and optimize cost accounting, profitability analysis, and reporting structures.
2. Super User & Functional Leadership
· Serve as the primary SAP FICO Super User for Controlling modules, including:
O Cost Center Accounting
o Internal Orders
o Profitability Analysis (CO‑PA)
o Product Costing
· Act as the go‑to SAP user for finance teams, providing hands‑on support for transactions, reports, and data issues.
· Perform root‑cause analysis on SAP FICO data discrepancies and coordinate resolution with IT/vendor teams.
· Validate system changes, enhancements, and upgrades from a business and reporting perspective.
3. Controlling, Reporting & Excel‑Driven Analysis
· Support periodic activities including:
o Month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing
o Cost allocation cycles and overhead absorption
o Budget vs. actual and variance analysis
· Develop and maintain advanced Excel‑based financial models, variance trackers, and management reports.
· Actively extract data from SAP FICO into Excel for:
o Detailed analysis
o Management reporting
o Ad‑hoc performance reviews
· Prepare, validate, and upload financial data from Excel into SAP ERP, ensuring accuracy and alignment with SAP structures.
· Reconcile Excel reports with SAP outputs to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
4. ERP Transformation & Change Enablement
- Participate in SAP ERP transformation, rollout, or enhancement initiatives as a key business representative.
- Support:
- Blueprinting
- UAT
- Data validation
- Cutover and post‑go‑live activities
- Drive user adoption through training, documentation, and hands‑on SAP support.
- Act as a change champion, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in SAP usage.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Finance and Controlling teams
- Business unit leaders
- IT, SAP support teams, and system integrators
- Translate business requirements into clear functional needs for SAP FICO.
- Provide management with actionable insights derived from SAP and Excel‑based financial analysis.
Functional & Business Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Cost accounting and management reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Financial performance management
- Ability to interpret financial data and convert it into business‑focused insights.
- Strong analytical, detail‑oriented, and problem‑solving skills.
System & Technical Skills
- Hands‑on experience as a full‑time SAP FICO end user / Super User (mandatory).
- Strong working knowledge of:
- SAP FICO reporting and controlling processes
- Data extraction from SAP to Excel
- Data upload and transfer from Excel into SAP ERP
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
- Pivot tables
• Lookups (XLOOKUP And INDEX‑MATCH)
- Large data handling and reconciliation
- Experience supporting UAT, SAP enhancements, and system changes.
Behavioral & Leadership Skills
- Strong business ownership mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to train, guide, and support SAP users.
- Proactive, solution‑driven, and comfortable working independently.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in Controlling / Management Reporting roles.
- Prior experience as an SAP FICO Super User or Finance SAP SME is mandatory.
- ERP transformation or SAP rollout experience is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications (CMA, CPA, SAP CO) are an advantage.
