Summer Internship - Retrofit Services & Maintenance Engineering

Job Description

Working Environment

• The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama supports design and development of retrofit solutions for Airbus commercial aircraft and customer support worldwide.
• The position is full-time onsite unless otherwise approved by management and human resources.
• Interns must be willing to relocate to Mobile, Alabama for the duration of the internship.

Challenges and Responsibilities

• Participate in engineering improvement and innovation projects involving automation, digitalization, API or web application development, and data analytics as appropriate.
• Generate engineering reports, templates, weekly status reports, and presentation materials.
• Organize engineering data, route documents for review, and consolidate data for future reference.
• Attend meetings, record minutes, coordinate with customers, and support service bulletin review, engineering support, and project management.

Boarding Pass

• Be enrolled in an accredited, full-time four-year engineering degree program in a listed engineering discipline or computer science.
• Be at least at sophomore level, or be enrolled in a master's degree program.
• Have project leadership, internship project, or supervised university research experience.
• Have entry-level Python or Apps Script skills and familiarity with CAD or analysis tools such as AutoCAD or CATIA.
• Be able to work with Google or Microsoft Suites and communicate effectively in English.
• Be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements

• The role requires regular computer, meeting, communication, walking, standing, and office equipment use.
• The role may require carrying or lifting documents, tools, drawings, and electronic equipment up to 30 pounds or 14 kilograms.
• Required site PPE may include safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators or masks, and protective gloves.
