• Job Description: The substitute bus operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.
• Bus Operator: Personnel employed to operate school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the State Board of Education. Note: Specific duties and responsibilities are derived from West Virginia Code 18A-4-8 and 18-5-13(6,7,8) and West Virginia School Transportation Regulations , as well as Federal Laws mandating Commercial Driver License and Mandatory Drug Testing.
• Pay Grade D

Qualifications

• Holds a high school diploma or GED
• Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake
• Endorsements
• Passes the required physical examination
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of
• behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
