Submarine Systems Engineer

Qualifications

• Education: An Engineering discipline Bachelor of Science degree (e.g., Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity) or additional relevant system experience is required. Advanced military technical training (e.g. Navy "C" School) and at least 3 years of directly related experience in submarine tactical systems and operation (e.g., service and qualification aboard a U.S. naval submarine or service at U.S. submarine school command) is required. Experience : A minimum of 3 years of recent experience with at least one system within the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) network. Additional Experience Required: Experience with SWFTS OBTT operation and the development of mission scenarios. An understanding of submarine operations to develop realistic engagement scenarios across submarine mission areas. Knowledge of processes for analysis and reporting related to System Engineering, and/or Test & Evaluation. Experience with multiple SWFTS systems’ operation and/or detailed understanding of SWFTS networking architecture is a plus. Certification(s) applicable to Cybersecurity Workforce (such as CompTIA Security+) is a plus. As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Location

• Newport, RI
• Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
• Clearance: Secret
• Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
