About the role
The Data and Analysis Pillar delivers intelligence analysis and research, data science, science and innovation, and data standards.
The role sits within the CTPHQ Analysis and Research team and supports assessment of national security threats to the UK.
The placement combines analytical work with support for learning, development, and professional events across the network.
Key tasks
- Assist with developing intelligence research and analytical products to support work across teams.
- Conduct open-source research and other tasks supporting intelligence development.
- Liaise with partners and police forces to gather and collate intelligence and data returns across the UK.
- Organise and manage training and continuous professional development events for the Analysis and Research network.
- Undertake other project work as required, with tasks shaped around interests, studies, and subject-matter knowledge.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information clearly to varied stakeholders.
- Ability to manage workload, balance multiple demands, and respond quickly to changing priorities.
- Ability to translate complex information into concise, understandable summaries with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team and build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Desirable background
- Interest in Counter Terrorism and/or Policing, with a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Study toward a relevant qualification in Criminology, Terrorism Studies, Policing, Security Studies, International Relations, Sociology, or Psychology.
- Candidates must be undergraduate students in a sandwich-year course returning to study in Autumn 2028.
