The position of Pathways to Education Student Support Worker is under the supervision of and reporting directly to the Pathways to Education Manager, and is a member of the STC Pathways to Education team. The Pathways to Education Student Parent Worker is responsible for building relationships with students and families in the STC Pathways to Education after-school program. You will work closely with the Pathways to Education team to ensure the identification of challenges facing students and that parents/guardians are registered with the Pathway’s program. You will provide ongoing communication, advocacy, and programming among students, parents/guardians’ understanding of the secondary school system, and their capacities to successfully engage secondary school teachers and administrators to support the achievement of the youth in the program .
Degree in education, health administration, social work, or equivalent;
Three years of experience in youth programming, education, or social work; either singularly or in combination;

Practices/understands Indigenous Cultural protocols of diverse nations;
Experience working within a governance structure in a community development capacity with First Nations;
familiarity with First Nations culture, and history is considered an asset.
Ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends.
Must possess a valid class 5 Driver’s license.
Must provide a current, original, Canadian Criminal Record Check (CCRC) with vulnerable sector search as a condition of employment.
