Overview
- Maintain excellent working relationships with all departments and colleges across the University.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling and career advising sessions designed to meet the needs of current students and alumni.
- Design and deliver student development workshops in the areas of mental health, well-being, skills development, and career planning for students and University staff.
- Create and deliver presentations and workshops to a range of audiences to raise awareness of counseling services and appropriate referral mechanisms.
- Liaise with faculty and staff to support effective engagement with students and address student-related concerns.
- Assist and advocate for students with special needs and medical conditions, in coordination with faculty and supervisors as required.
- Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when necessary.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of student support programs by monitoring services and identifying areas for enhancement.
- Prepare and execute an annual activity plan covering mental health, skills development, and career-related workshops.
- Manage counseling and career development content on Student Affairs social media platforms.
- Supervise the Student Governance Body and conduct training for Student Council and Happiness Committee members.
- Maintain accurate and confidential electronic and written student records, including session notes and communication logs.
- Organize and prioritize caseloads, ensuring timely support based on student needs and urgency.
- Manage student appointment schedules, same-day mini-appointments, and workshops to maintain appropriate service levels at all times.
- Prepare and submit appropriate reports and documentation related to counseling and student development activities.
- Work collaboratively with the Line Manager on all student-related matters, maintaining strict confidentiality and contributing proactively to service development, policies, and procedures.
- Adhere to CAA guidelines for ethical practice and comply with professional ethical frameworks relevant to professional registration.
- Participate in extra-curricular activities, community events, and University initiatives supporting student success.
- Attend meetings as required and perform other related duties as assigned by management.
