CFD Research is seeking to hire a structural response modeling and simulation engineer to support multiple projects.

This individual will conduct thermo-structural response analysis of composite materials and structures under a variety of conditions and environments relevant to high-speed flight systems using tools such as Abaqus.

Analysis tasks will consist of both linear and highly nonlinear problems due to integration of advanced techniques related to transient loads and contact interactions, as well as progressive damage models.

In addition to delivering timely results, the individual will work with a team of engineers, scientists, and software developers to research, develop, and demonstrate novel approaches to advance the state-of-the-practice in structural response modeling of carbon-based composite materials and structures.

• At least two years of relevant industry and/or research experience with physics-based modeling and simulation
