Structural Inspector (Infrastructure & Bridges)

Role Overview

Bridge Inspections

• Inspect pile foundations, pile caps, reinforcement, formwork, pile testing, concrete pours, and related quality checks.
• Inspect precast girders, erection, post-tensioning, bearings, decks, parapets, crash barriers, joints, drainage, and waterproofing.

Tunnel Inspections

• Inspect excavation, diaphragm and secant pile walls, underpinning, TBM operations, segment geometry, grouting, shotcrete, rock bolts, and steel supports.
• Inspect secondary lining, concrete, waterproofing membranes, construction joints, water stops, cross passages, ventilation shafts, and emergency exits.

Quality Control and Testing

• Review inspection requests and witness pre-pour checks, concrete testing, acceptance testing, and non-destructive testing.
• Verify survey setting-out, levels, alignment, camber, geometry, tolerances, material records, mill certificates, and batch records.
• Raise non-conformance and site observation reports and track close-out actions.

HSE and Authority Coordination

• Enforce HSE requirements for heavy lifts, post-tensioning, work at height, confined spaces, gas monitoring, and tunnel evacuation.
• Stop unsafe activities and coordinate inspections and approvals with RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other authorities.

Reporting and Records

• Maintain daily inspection records, photographic logs, and as-built documentation using Aconex or ProjectWise.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports and support snagging, de-snagging, taking-over, and defects-liability inspections.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 8 years of structural inspection experience on both bridge and tunnel projects.
• At least 4 years of UAE or GCC experience on RTA, metro, or comparable authority projects.
• Strong drawing-reading skills, TBM and shotcrete familiarity, English fluency, and willingness to work underground and rotating shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• RTA or Dubai Municipality Inspector Engineer approval is highly preferred.
• A valid UAE driving license and consultant-side supervision experience are preferred.
